Why SMART Goals Aren’t Effective for Most

I talk about some of the latest research on how elite athletes and top performers set their goals, which actually challenges the conventional SMART format. (Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, and Time based)

The new research says that creating specific goals can be challenging for most people, and that there is a more effective method called “open goals” that can make the experience of working toward you goal more enjoyable and create motivation.

I give you my take on this new research and why it may not be totally accurate and why this new method of “open goals” can be problematic. And, I give you our solution for making this a great strategy for pursuing your goals and resolutions this year.
