The Inevitable You® system teaches people that their “mental software” (programs and patterns that create reality for them), are generally baked in by the age of 5. Traditional psychology and neural sciences both agree on this notion. The way that they view themselves, interact with the world, and perceive and create meanings for the things that happen to them are programmed into the psyche at a very early age. These programs are modified by life experiences, but the blueprint and framework of their psychology is set by the age of 5 by their Family of Origin (parents, grandparents, siblings, uncles, etc.) Generally, you can find these programs by looking at family sayings that you have lived by because the language contains hints to the “mental software” that is running in you and your family of origin.
For example, what you think if a parent told a child “It doesn’t matter how strong or fast YOU are, it matters how hard you work.” Sounds like a decent thing to say to motivate a child right to succeed, right? Take a deeper look at the program behind the sentence. What kind of child would you say that to? “It doesn’t matter how strong or fast YOU are…”, you would only say that to a child who is slow and weak! So the hidden program behind the sentence that the child’s brain is interpreting is that they are slow and weak, not strong or fast. Who do you think the slow and weak person is in this scenario? Yeah, the parent who said the sentence is the slow and weak one. And it’s not that the parent is bad for saying that sentence, it’s just the mental software that is running that forms the saying.
Take a look at your family sayings and look really close at them and find the hidden program behind them. What you once thought was helping you succeed in life could actually be holding you back because of these rogue programs that are running in your mental software. What is your one sentence that you repeat over and over? What is the one sentence that your parents always say to you that might be running unconsciously?
