This is the second post in a series of 9 on enhancement of the Law of Attraction (LOA). The first post highlighted the movie The Secret and it’s excellent job of explaining the LOA, and covered the 1st enhancement. The 2nd enhancement to the LOA is to Believe. This means that once you have decided what you want to ask for, the thing that you want in your life, you have to believe that you will get.
So that poses the question: How do you believe when, in fact, you don’t believe?
The movie does a great job talking about how you create the belief by using emotions. Once you decide what you want, you have to put it out into the universe by asking for it, and then you have to put the emotion in your body that you would have when you get it. These emotions catalyze quantum energy levels and in turn, attract that thing into your life. They also make the point that intensity affects the attraction levels as well, the more intense you feel the emotion, the stronger the attraction.
A lot of you might even be practicing these techniques today, but it is not working for you and you might be questioning if the Law of Attraction even works. But remember, it works both ways, even for the things you don’t want…
When you connect to what you don’t want or what’s wrong with you on an emotional level, those emotions begin to catalyze energy (if you believe in the New Age approach to this that The Secret explains) and it also triggers neural patterns and programs. A great example of this is the “Don’t spill the milk” program that I talked about in the first enhancement.
For example, a client of mine was always worried about her health and had constant anxiety about whether something more serious was going on or not. Even the slightest symptom would trigger her anxiety. So she asked me how she could use the Law of Attraction principles to “get rid of her anxiety”. When you are constantly focused on getting rid of something, you will attract more of that into your life. There is a martial arts principle that says when you resist something, it resists back. Just like Newton’s 3rd Law of Motion, “For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.”
When you are trying to get rid of anxiety, what do you really want? Most people would say peace of mind or confidence.
In her case the anxiety was based around health, so she needs to focus on the amazing immune system that she has. She needs to believe that her body is taking care of her and fighting off illness and sickness, because it is!
Even if you have long term illness, you can create emotions around an amazing immune system and an amazing body. That will produce far greater results than anxiety about a symptom or constantly asking what’s wrong with you. Connect to last time you defeated an illness or sickness, go back to gratitude for your immune system when you were healthy, and feel those emotions. Your body and mind will react positively to those emotions.
Don’t just intellectualize the great feeling, focus on emotions and experience them. Most people, when they do a visualization exercise, will just sit there silently and think about and imagine all the money or love or happiness that is coming their way. They do not physically get out of their chair and jump around and shout and truly experience those emotions!
So, when using the Law of Attraction, you cannot simply ask for something and think about having it and wish and pray for it. You have to feel the emotions you will have when you do attract that thing you want. Not only will it catalyze quantum levels of energy, it will initiate the neural programs and patterns that will help you produce the result you are looking for.
